Dr. Constad earned his medical degree at MCP-Drexel University College of Medicine and completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at the New UMDNJ-University Hospital followed by fellowship in Diseases & Surgery of the Cornea at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr. Constad serves as a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science where he participates in research and teaching, and is affiliated with Jersey City Medical Center and St. Barnabus Medical Center.

At Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons, Dr. Constad sees patients in need of routine as well as complex medical, surgical and laser eye care and provides eye exams for cataracts, as well as eye exams for retinal disease, such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration (AMD), diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and regular eye health and comprehensive ophthalmology needs. Dr. Constad specializes in corneal surgery including corneal transplants, refractive surgery for vision correction including LASIK, and refractive cataract surgery using advanced technology lens implants such as toric lens implants to correct astigmatism and multifocal lens implants to help cataract patients reduce their dependence on eyeglasses, reading glasses and bifocals after cataract surgery. He offers experience and expertise in fitting of complex contact lenses for corneal diseases such as keratoconus and irregular corneal shapes from scarring using scleral contact lenses and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Constad serves as Medical Director & Member of the Board of Director of Eversight New Jersey, the New Jersey Eye Bank, and has been honored by Eversight with both the Founder’ and “Man of Vision” Awards. He served on the Editorial Board of the Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine and has contributed numerous articles and textbook chapters to the ophthalmic literature. Dr. Constad has been listed among the Top Doctors in the New York Metropolitan Area and in New Jersey since 1998, and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO).
